Description

Thor's Hammer is a Canberra business dedicated to recycling timber from building demolitions. It began in the early 1990s when Thor Diesendorf, then a young woodworker, noticed how much high-quality Australian hardwood timber was being dumped in landfill.

The mission then was as strong as it is now: to keep demolition timber out of landfill by growing the interest in and demand for recycled timber. And while Thors Hammer has seen massive growth over their nearly 30 years in business, the methods for achieving this have largely stayed the same; salvage and supply high quality Australian hardwoods from demolition sites across the country, and design and make iconic custom furniture and joinery from 100% recycled timber.

Today, Thors Hammer is a frontrunner in the furniture design industry when it comes to sourcing, supplying and working with recycled timber, salvaging over 1500 tonnes of timber each year and rehoming it in homes and business all over the country.
