Start the New Year with a spring clean

Start the New Year with a spring clean
Christmas is a faded memory and a New Year has begun and what better way to start the New Year than with a spring clean and maintenance of your home and garden.

Have you let all those little odd jobs mount up during the past year while you kept telling yourself that you will get around to fixing them. So hire a handyman and kick the year off with a good clean, repair and rubbish removal.

Start with the garage, shed and garden.

Clearing out the garage and or shed to create easier access to the bikes, golf clubs, fishing rods, surf boards, skis and beach gear. Sell, throw or give away the equipment you or the kids have outgrown. Have a handyman install racks for the bikes, hooks for the tennis rackets, beach chairs and extension leads, and put up shelves for the tools.

Find a spot for the garden equipment so you don’t have to move gear every time you do the lawns. Put your fertilisers, digging forks and garden gloves in one spot. Clear out all the old rusted tools, empty plastic pots and paint tins and get rid of anything you don’t need or use. Clear the garden beds of weeds and rubbish and throw out the old potted plants that have died.

Once sorted, decluttered, cleaned and cleared, you can get the handyman or a rubbish removal company to take the rubbish away for you.

All those little jobs inside can be done in a day or two by hiring a handyman who can dedicate his time and knowledge to the jobs at hand without interruption or distraction. Fix that leaking tap or replace old taps with a new ones. What about the hole in the wall where the kids rough & tumble got a little out of hand. Have a handyman repair the plaster and repaint the wall. Re-adhere the tiles that have fallen off in the bathroom or re-grout the entire bathroom. Repair the broken window and replace all those blown light bulbs. Fix the broken chair leg or the wobbly kitchen table. Call in a specialist to give the oven and BBQ a really good clean, and get the handyman finally put together that flat pack furniture.

If you are planning on some redecorating at home, a handyman can move furniture, paint, hang artworks, blinds or curtains, put up shelves and wallpaper for you, making the job faster, easier and less stressful.

The jobs a handyman can do are endless. From cleaning, repairing and maintenance the list goes on. For the time poor, the elderly, those with back problems or mobility issues, the lazy or the not so handy, hiring a handyman is the perfect solution.
